And so, I smile // Life Update

You have filled my heart with greater joy. {Psalm 4:7}

Hey there, sweet friends! I wanted to take a few minutes and reflect on a few things from the past two months. First of all, I was finally able to purchase a journaling Bible:

Secondly, my brother and I were able to go hiking/kayaking. It was such a fun experience, and I was thankful to spend the time with my family. First we went to a place called Poverty Point, and there we hiked a trail going around indian artifacts, huge trees, and gorgeous landscapes. I’m such an outdoorsy person, and I was stopping every five seconds to admire flowers, trees, grass, etc. Shoutout to Matt for putting up with me all day. 😉

After Poverty Point, we drove for an hour to Chemin-A-Haut State Park, a little place close to Arkansas. We signed some papers for kayak rental, grabbed some paddles and life jackets and headed down to the water. We went exploring around a small lake for a few hours, which was definitely the highlight of my day. (At one point, I tossed moss onto my leg with my paddle, and in turn scared myself.)

There’s something so surreal about being on the water, so close to the creation God designed. Drifting under tree branches and embracing the breeze. Silently gliding through the water. It just warms your soul.

Oh, let my heart sing His praise, for God is so so good. Throughout every little bend in life, He’s doing something beautiful.

And so, I smile.

And we know that God works all things together for the good of those who love Him, who are called according to His purpose. {Romans 8:28}

xo, Jessi
