Oh, This Life

Oh, sweet friends. It’s a crazy life. But it’s had some lovely moments lately. Yesterday, my sister and I had breakfast at a local coffee shop. Since her wedding last June, she lives in Southern California. With us usually being 1600 miles apart, it was so pleasant to share a couple hours with her – along with coffee, beignets, and bagel sandwiches.

Even so, I have noticed one thing, at least, that is good. It is good for people to eat, drink, and enjoy their work under the sun during the short life God has given them, and to accept their lot in life. And it is a good thing to receive wealth from God and the good health to enjoy it. To enjoy your work and accept your lot in life – this is indeed a gift from God. God keeps such people so busy enjoying life that they take no time to brood over the past. {Ecclesiastes 6:18-20}

God has blessed each and every one of us with a life filled with abundant blessings. Think of it. You can wake up each day, take a run, watch the sunrise as it floods the fingertips of the trees at dawn and stains the clouds. By the strength of God, you are able to be determined, you are able to accomplish any goal you set before yourself. You have so many options every day, darling.

I’m not much of a “New Year’s Resolutions” person. But I did set one goal for myself this year. To work hard in everything, be it chores, school, or actually work at my dad’s office – and while I’m working, to rejoice in the Lord because of the wonderful things He has done. Life is a beautiful mess, my friends, and I want to live it to the full.

Sweet sisters.

There are so many things coming this year. Abundant sunrises. Long stargazes. Coffee dates. Just being able to write to all of you and share what’s on my heart, I count that as such a sweet blessing.

You will touch so many lives this year.

You will write so many words this year.

You will make such wonderful memories this year.

You will see such beautiful things this year.

There are so many glorious things coming in the future, my friends; and our Lord is doing such wonderful things in each of your precious hearts. You are all so dear to Him, and He has such a powerful plan that He has designed for you. So sisters, let us all work hard every day, every hour. Let us complete everyday tasks with a song in our hearts. Let us say bold things, let us live every moment to the fullest. Life is such a beautiful blessing – let us work diligently for the Lord in all moments.

I love each and every one of you so much. Just think – we are all sisters. By the spirit of God, we are all bonded together in a glorious harmony. That is the craziest and loveliest thing I could ever imagine.

Oh, this life.

Because of our faith, Christ has brought us into this place of undeserved privilege where we now stand, and we confidently and joyfully look forward to sharing God’s glory. We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because He has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with His love. {Romans 5:2-5}

Love,

Jessi

  1. Wow! Jessi! I just love what you had to say!!! That was beautiful! God is truly working in you day after day! And He’s going to complete what He started. 😊
    It’s just like Philippians 1:6!
    “being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” Love you so much Jessi! So glad to see God speaking to your heart ❤️
    Much love,
    Jules.
