The Beautiful Battle

Tune my heart to sing thy grace.

I made a decision a few months ago, and have not looked back since. I gave my life to Christ, and since then I have come to comprehend this: in Christ you are made completely new. I hope you come to fully comprehend that. You are made new! No mistakes. No blemishes. No grief or sadness. No guilt, no shame. Reborn, refreshed, established in Him. He has restored your soul, and the old you has faded away.

Now, your adventure has begun. Now, it is time to grow.

I will not use my tongue to speak cursings, but life-giving blessings to everyone that I meet and in every situation I face. {James 3:8-10}

Sister, you must grow, learning to lay your life down. Now that you have been rooted in Christ, you must sprout. Learn to take up your cross. To follow His commands. Yes, you will struggle. Tremendously. But you must push forward in every situation to overcome. You and I must strive to become more like Christ. To let God’s love flood every part of our innermost being, that our wonderfully created and dearly loved soul will overflow with the joy of God.

Taste and see that the Lord is good. Oh, the joys of those who take refuge in Him! {Psalm 34:8}

It will be hard to die to yourself, trust me, I know. But His sweet love will carry us through every day. Oh, how sweet He is! How sweet are His words! Our God is so beautifully magnificent. He promises to never leave us nor forsake us. Through every struggle, every single temptation, through even the deepest pain God will always stand there by our side and completely engulf us in His love. As you grow, sister, learn to grow in grace. This adventure is hard, oh yes. Yet this adventure of yours will be sweet. A beautiful battle, in which God himself gives you strength and loves you through it all. As you grow, He will be with you in everything.

…Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength! {Nehemiah 8:10}

Through every temptation you face, through every grueling day, through every pouring rain, the Lord is your strength. Depend on Him, oh sweet one you must depend on Him. You must trust in Him. Now that your adventure has begun, you must grow. Falling in love with Jesus every day is a beautiful thing. I pray that you will love Him more and more with each passing moment, that you will see and know your worth, that you will let His love consume and work through you.

Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff, they protect and comfort me. {Psalm 23:4}

You have a purpose. You were fearfully and wonderfully made to be a shining vessel of God’s love. You will go through storms, darling, yes. But through every steep and twisting trail you must never wither in your pursuit of Jesus. Life is tough, my darling, but so are you. You were made to grow, and our gracious Lord will give you the strength to do it. Learn to love with your life, to give your all to Jesus. Love with your whole heart.

Stay strong, sister. It’s all worth it. I promise.

With a warm loving hug,

  3. You inspire me so much. Every time I read your posts I am encouraged.
    One quick question though: could you please pray for me? I’m not sure if you read my “Just be Honest” post, but it really explains what I’m going through. I desperately want to feel God’s love, to feel to the love of Jesus, I’m just struggling with believing in Jesus. I’m not sure what to do. Do you know if God helps the doubting?

    1. Hi Alex! Thank you for your words!

      I have been and will be praying for you. 🙂 Your comment really touched a nerve with me, these feelings were recent in my life too. Know that you are not alone in this. You actually have inspired me to write a post on this, and I hope that it will deeply encourage and help you. ❤ That will be out tomorrow, and in the meantime I wanted to share this verse with you:

      "What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us? Since He did not spare even His own Son, but gave Him up for us all, won't He also give us everything else? Who dare accuse us whom God has chosen for His own? No one – for God Himself has given us right standing with Himself. Who then will condemn us? No one – for Christ Jesus dies for us and was raised to life for us, and He is sitting in the place of honor at God's right hand, pleading for us.

      Can anything ever separate us from Christ's love? Does it mean He no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry… No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.

      And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God's love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today, nor our worries about tomorrow – not even the powers of hell can separate us from God's love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below – indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord." {Romans 8:31-39}

      Know that you are not alone, Alex – and God does help with doubt! He will help you through everything! Stay strong, friend!!

      Prayers and hugs,
