You, My Dear, Are Quite Amazing

If you see something beautiful in someone, speak it. {Ruthie Lindsey}

You are special.

Step back for a moment, away from the clichés, and be reminded of your worth. Do you know how different you are? Do you know how priceless you are? Do you know how your God looks down upon you and the heavens smile with joy, how the angels are in awe of your beauty? You are amazing, my dear, in so many ways.  One way is this:

How differently you can interpret the world from me.

The fact that we interpret our lives and our moments uniquely blows me away. For example, you and I might see colors differently – my red might be your green, your blue, my gray. It’s a crazy scientific theory that no two people interpret colors the same way. It inspires so much awe that I’ll never be able to see the world as you do – or as anyone else does. But that’s one thing that defines us, that makes us unique. No two people will see the world the same way. They might interpret things differently. Not just colors, either. Every aspect of our lives can be seen differently. That’s a major difference that has such an impact.

You are amazing, in the sense that you have your own unique way of interpreting the universe.

Yet, you also have another amazing attribute.

You have a beautiful spirit. When God created you, when God set you apart and knit you together, when He formed your innermost being, when He designed every aspect of you and claimed you as His, He gave you the most colorful, the most beautiful, and the most unique spirit. No one will ever laugh like you. No one will ever dance like you. No one will ever praise like you do. Your spirit is unique, and your spirit is treasured by our Heavenly Father.

You are altogether beautiful, my love; there is no flaw in you. {Song of Solomon 4:7}

I do hope, darling, that you can see how you are like no other. That you can see yourself through God’s eyes how set apart you are. How He has designed you with all of your quirks, your talents, your smile, and how He calls you beautiful.

Other young women need to hear this too.

Think for a moment, think of a girl that inspires you. Or really, any person who you think is beautiful, a person you look up to. In the words of Ruthie Lindsey, if you see something beautiful in someone, speak itWrite them a letter, send an email, message them over social media, or simply tell them in person.

Because sometimes people forget their value. Sometimes they get discouraged. But when you remind them of who they really are, how they impact you, how amazing they are, and what they mean to our Father, it can make a difference in their day. In the chaos of life,  be a fresh breath. A shining moment. A quiet light. Go send some encouragement to someone. Let them know their impact.

Be bold, darling. Tell someone of their beauty. Maybe the Lord is tugging at your heart, maybe He wants you to tell someone of their worth and of their loveliness. Listen to His call. Listen to His words. Dear, be a light to someone today. Don’t be shy. Don’t be afraid.

If someone has encouraged you, let them know.

If someone amazes you, tell them.

If you see beauty in someone, speak it.

Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you. {Isaiah 60:1}

Keep shining, darlings.

P. S. I want to take a moment to just say thank you to everyone who has decided to join in on these little ramblings. It has been a while since my last post. I had felt really discouraged, scared, and worried in the past few weeks, hence my lack of posting here. But guys, our God is so good, and He works in so many ways! When He shuts one door, He opens another. I’m getting back on my feet, all thanks to Him. He is so, so good. To all the lovely people who have followed this blog, and encouraged me to keep writing, I want to say thank you. You dears are all truly precious.

  1. Your writing is absolutely amazing! It inspires me so much! Your posts always brighten my day and keep a smile on my face. Thank you so much for reminding me of God’s love, because, to be completely honest, I’ve been having a lot of doubts about that recently. Thank you for everything that you do. You truly are a wonderful, beautiful, talented, amazing girl.

  2. Thanks for your beautiful words, they really ministered to me! And you’re so right, we should call out others’ beauty more. I think sometimes we hesitate to say these things because we think it looks like flattery, but it can make such a difference when someone tells us we are valuable, beautiful, amazing…
