4.1.18 If there’s one thing I’ve learned year after year, it’s that reflection upon the resurrection brings about a spirit of humbleness. No matter how many times I read of Jesus, I can never fully comprehend who He was or what He did. I will never fully grasp it. How He bore a crown of thorns, that we may wear a crown of life. How He died to give us life, and how He rose to give us hope. It is my prayer each day, that we may live worthy of His sacrifice, dying to ourselves daily, as He died for us. Carrying our crosses and bearing our burdens, just as He did. Lord, we thank you for your Son. The ultimate sacrifice. The embodiment of love. We thank you for freedom. We thank you for Hope. #resurrectionday #joyfullyadventurous
3.25.18 🌻 In my old Bible study group, we had this thing called “messy prayers”. We would always encourage one another, saying, “Don’t be afraid of messy prayers! pour your heart out to Him!”. And now, just this morning I was reading through Hebrews and I came across the verse “let us go right into the presence of God with sincere hearts fully trusting Him.” (v. 10:22a) Sincere hearts, fully trusting Him. Know that you can go to Him with ANYTHING in prayer. Nothing is insignificant to the Father. Go to Him for anything that concerns you, big or small; relationships, friendships, decisions in any area of your life. He cares and He’s always there to listen. Darling, trust that He hears, and trust that He’ll take care of you. Hebrews 11:1, in the nlt translation, says, “Faith is the confidence of what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us the assurance about things we cannot see.” We cannot see into the future, but we will trust He has wonderful things in store for us. I can’t see where I’ll be after graduation next year, but I’ll trust in Him. i don’t know when or where I’ll ever meet my significant other, but I’ll trust in Him. I don’t even know what tomorrow holds, but STILL. I will trust in Him. So friends, join me in this. Each day, pouring out our concerns and praises to the Father, and patiently waiting for the things He has planned for us. Let’s stop being afraid of stillness and quiet. Let’s pray messy prayers, trust in Him, and see what happens. :) 🌻 #joyfullyadventurous
3.23.18 🌱 darling, look how far you’ve come the paths you’ve traveled the roads you’ve taken. remember the mighty trees of the swamps and the forests that your journey brought you to. like the mighty oak and cypress, you are still growing still changing still maturing. so don’t give up hope now. there’s so much more to see. 🌱 j. w. #joyfullyadventurous
